A good level of fitness is recommended. You should be able to walk 6-8 hours per day for several consecutive days. We recommend starting a training programme at least 3 months before your climb.
The best times are January-March and June-October when the weather is driest. July and August are the most popular months.
No technical climbing experience is required. Kilimanjaro is a trekking peak — you walk to the summit. However, good hiking experience is beneficial.
Altitude sickness can affect anyone regardless of fitness. Our itineraries include proper acclimatisation days, and our guides are trained to recognise and manage altitude-related issues.
