Day 3: Machame Camp to Shira Camp (3,840 m)
Leave the rainforest behind and ascend through moorland with spectacular views of Mount Meru and the Shira Plateau. The landscape becomes more open as you reach Shira Camp, where you can relax and enjoy the mountain scenery. Hiking Time: 4–6 hours Distance: 5 km (3 miles) Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 4: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp (3,960 m) via Lava Tower (4,630 m)
Today's trek follows the "climb high, sleep low" principle, which helps your body acclimatize. Hike up to Lava Tower for lunch before descending to Barranco Camp beneath the impressive Barranco Wall. Hiking Time: 6–8 hours Distance: 10 km (6 miles) Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 5: Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp (4,640 m)
Climb the famous Barranco Wall and continue through alpine desert to Karanga Camp before heading to Barafu Camp. After an early dinner, rest and prepare for the midnight summit attempt. Hiking Time: 7–8 hours Distance: 9 km (5.6 miles) Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 6: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m) and Descend to Mweka Camp (3,100 m)
Around midnight, begin the challenging summit ascent. Reach Stella Point before continuing to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Celebrate your achievement, take photos, and enjoy the sunrise before descending to Barafu Camp for a short rest. Continue down to Mweka Camp for your final night on the mountain
Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate – Departure
After breakfast, descend through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you will receive your summit certificate. Meet your driver and transfer back to your hotel for a hot shower and lunch (day room if included), or continue directly to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK) for your departure flight, depending on your schedule.
