Follow the famous "climb high, sleep low" acclimatization strategy. Ascend to Lava Tower for lunch before descending into the scenic Barranco Valley. The descent helps your body adjust to the altitude while offering incredible views of the Barranco Wall.
Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Start the day by climbing the impressive Barranco Wall, one of the highlights of the Lemosho Route. Continue through rolling alpine terrain to Karanga Camp. The afternoon is reserved for rest and acclimatization.
Day 6: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
- Elevation: 4,035 m to 4,640 m
- Hiking Time: 3–4 hours
- Distance: 4 km
Hike steadily to Barafu Camp, your base camp for the summit attempt. After an early dinner, rest and prepare your equipment before going to bed for a few hours of sleep ahead of the midnight summit climb.
Day 7: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak, then descend to Mweka Camp
- Elevation: 4,640 m to 5,895 m, then descend to 3,100 m
- Hiking Time: 11–14 hours
- Distance: 17 km
Begin your summit push around midnight. Reach Stella Point before continuing to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m), the highest point in Africa. Celebrate your achievement and enjoy breathtaking sunrise views. Descend back to Barafu Camp for a short rest before continuing to Mweka Camp for your final night on the mountain.
Day 8: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate

- Hiking Time: 3–4 hours
- Distance: 10 km
Descend through the beautiful rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you will receive your summit certificate. Meet your driver for the transfer back to Moshi or Arusha, where your Kilimanjaro adventure comes to a memorable end.
